Washington Park Area
A ten minute drive will bring you to the gates of Washington Park. This are is rich with hiking trails, monuments and attractions, including the esteemed International Rose Test Garden and the Portland Japanese Garden, both of which we highly recommend. Drive up a little further to explore Hoyt Arboretum or take a tour of Pittock Mansion. You truly can spend all day in the Washington Park area.
The Southwest Waterfront
Spend a sunny day walking alongside the Willamette River. You’ll often stumble across events, performers and markets along your path. The best part? When you’re ready for lunch, head west for a few blocks and and you’ll find yourself right back in downtown Portland.
Forest Park
Touted as one of Portland’s crown jewels, this network of trails delivers quintessential Pacific Northwest beauty. Find a route that fits your experience level and get to know the local flora and fauna. You’ll get a glimpse of St. John’s Bridge along the way.
Mount Tabor Park
If you’re going to spend some time on the east side, stop by Mount Tabor to get your outdoor fix. There is plenty of space to stretch out in the grass to enjoy views of the city or you can hike around a bit to get some exercise in. Plus, this Portland’s only park that is built on top of a volcano!
