A home transcends the house, and ours is kept with you in mind. Here’s what our guests have been saying.

“The house is a testament to sensitive updating and the careful maintenance of a gracious and comfortable historic home. The property was spotless, walkable to downtown and a nearby MAX light-rail station, and offered wonderful views from its hillside location. If that weren’t enough, you won’t find a nicer or more helpful manager than Alyssa, who lives on-site in a separate apartment. We were a group of 4, all of whom would happily return to the Jacobberger house.”

“We loved this fabulous house for our family. Coming together with 4 families was perfect. So glad that this 1914 house was preserved.”

“Came out for a wedding and needed room for 8 in downtown Portland. The Jacobberger House was perfect. 4 spacious bedrooms on the 2nd floor and a whole apartment (with kitchen and bath on the 3rd gave plenty of room for all of us. The house is over 100 years old and the craftsmanship from that time is evident in all the original woodwork on an amazingly roomy 1st floor and throughout the house. The kitchen has been modernized and has everything you’ll need (including 5 bottles of chilled water waiting in the dredge when we arrived). The shared bath on the 2nd floor is large, and the shower has the best water pressure you will ever experience. Makes showering a breeze. My 28-year old son kept saying “This is such a cool house!” We we’re actually looking forward to returning to the house after each day’s wedding events. You will love this place!”

“This home was the perfect location for our 4-night getaway of seven lifelong friends. Communication was excellent and the on-site manager, Alyssa, was responsive and helpful at every turn. The house itself is immaculately clean and aesthetically stunning, but also welcoming and comfortable for hanging out and enjoying one another's company. The kitchen is very well-appointed; the bedrooms are luxurious and quiet; and the main floor bath is everything that earlier reviews promised - like a spa. The multiple decks and outdoor areas were also a treat! We cannot recommend this property highly enough and we hope to stay there again!”

“Our family of 8 stayed for a long weekend. The house is spacious, comfortable and quiet and we all enjoyed the peaceful night sleep. We walked everywhere and the few times we needed a ride, Uber delivered. Saturday farmers market is only a few blocks away. We cooked meals and at the end of each night, gathered on one of the patios with a view to watch the sun go down over Portland. Thankfully, we also enjoyed the World Cup games on the TV. Great family reunion vacation!”

“I live here in Portland, and rented this beautiful home for a weekend with 7 of my college friends. We were all thrilled with the home, the beds, the bath, the shower, the beautiful deck outside the breakfast room, the warm and cozy living room, and the spacious kitchen and dining room. Oh, and the soft silk rugs! Seriously, we've stayed at a lot of properties around the country in our annual girls weekend, and this house was definitely the best. So comfortable and luxurious and obviously lovingly cared for. The location is also ideal. PSU farmers market only a few blocks away. Just walk down 13th to the Pearl, and then easy access to the Alphabet district. Streetcar and Max are close by. We didn't get to enjoy the beautiful views of the city and mountains because of nearby wildfire smoke, but that would have been the icing on the cake. We hope to come back for another trip, hopefully this is still a VRBO for their next visit to Portland!”

“This home was perfect for our family of 8, with an additional rental of upstairs apartment for another relative. Spent much of our down time on the terrace off of the dining room, and sunset on the balcony off of the upper apartment. We would recommend to anyone that wants a high end stay to enjoy inside and outside.”

“We use this downtown Portland vintage craftsman as a girls getaway. The accommodations far exceeded our expectations. The beds were comfortable, towels we're absorbent and fluffy. The beautiful tiled fireplace kept us cozy. Any appliance we needed was there. Great dining area with wonderful morning light and great sitting balconies. The views amazing. We were given a great tour of the home before we settled in. Kerri was a wonderful hostess, she gave us directions on where to eat and what to do in the area, this of course was supported with pamphlets, brochures and maps. Every detail has been considered to keep this vintage craftsman home in period. It made it very difficult to leave. I highly recommend this home as your next place to stay when in Portland.”

“This house is amazing from location, to furnishing, to linens.... (Think 5 star hotel quality). The entire house was EXTREMELY EXTREMELY clean and organized from the kitchen, bath, kitchen supplies, bath towels, linens, floors.... Cleanliness is my first requirement when staying somewhere and this house surpassed all my requirements. You can definitely feel and see the pride in ownership of this home. Owner and house manager were very friendly and responsive to all our needs and questions. House manager even baked a hot batch of cookies for my 3 boys arrival!! How nice and what a yummy treat! The house is in a wonderful central location. One thing I would note is that the house is on a steep hill and has a lot of stairs leading up to the front door. We had no problems with grandparents in the 70s and boys aged 9, 6, and 4, but might be something to consider if anyone in your party has mobility issues. We would definitely stay at this house again!
